Jon Ehlers, DDS
Dr. Ehlers was born and raised in Cole Camp, just a few miles from Tiger Family Dental. It’s fair to say that he is a big sports fan, particularly basketball and baseball. He played basketball during his youth, all the way through college, and even held the scoring record in basketball for 14 years. Dr. Jon lives in Sedalia with his wife, Amanda and their 8 year old daughter, Kaylen. Spending time as a family, walking their Corgi puppy, Max, and playing softball are some of the things Dr. Jon and his family enjoy doing. Dr. Jon is a huge Mizzou Tigers fan and rarely misses a football game. Watching sports is a great way to spend time with friends and family.
Dr. Jon always knew that he wanted to be in healthcare. When he discovered he loved working with his hands, he decided on dentistry. Dentistry is the perfect mix of medicine, art, and engineering.
“The wonderful thing about dentistry is that I can improve someone's health and, at the same time, improve their self-esteem and their self-confidence. The true reward in this profession is knowing that you can really make a difference in someone’s life.
I am a dentist because I care about people, and it is my pleasure to help patients find their confidence, create their beautiful smile, or even achieve a pain-free existence. I love my job because there is a new challenge every day. Dentistry allows me to shape other peoples lives for the better and create lasting relationships that I cherish so much.” - Dr. Jon Ehlers
After attending Cole Camp High School, Dr. Jon went on to Lindenwood University where he earned his degree in Biology and graduated summa cum laude.
Dr. Jon then attended the University of Missouri Kansas City for his DDS degree. He graduated in 2010 in the top 25 percent of his class. Experience and versatility are important to Dr. Jon, so he completed a one-year internship in oral surgery and a prestigious implant residency. These skills allow Dr. Jon to provide many surgical procedures here in our Sedalia dental office.
Professional memberships include:

Recently I lost one of my front teeth after nursing it for several years knowing it would be inevitable. My wife, Joy and I for most of our marriage, have wondered what it would be like for me to address improving my smile because I have always had very dark and stained teeth. With the lost tooth in hand, we decided to go for it. The results have been amazing to say the least. The quality of the work and materials used by Dr Ehlers and his staff is second to none! This practice at 10th and Winchester is an asset to this community for sure.
